was spotted out and about with his pregnant wife Riko Shibata and son Weston Cage after dropping a fairly sizeable bombshell, revealing that he turned down roles in and .

The actor, 58, who attended a screening of on Monday night, stepped out with Riko, 27, as the couple wore matching eye-catching Versace outfits.

The Con Air star held hands with Riko as they exited Toku Unagi & Sushi in West Hollywood, with Nicolas donning Versace’s Barocco print on a bright yellow silk short-sleeved shirt while teaming it with suave black trousers.

Riko – – wore a green jacket emblazoned with a floral Versace print while also teaming it with some black trousers, however, in reflective black fabric.

She wore her hair in a loose ponytail while she covered her face with her hand and mobile phone and finished off the ensemble with a pair of high-top white converse sneakers.

Weston, 31, Nicolas’ son with ex-wife Christina Fulton, looked casual in a leather jacket, loose trousers and a pair of walking sandals.

He wore his long hair loose around his shoulders, and he sported a moustache and beard.

Meanwhile, Academy Award winner Nicolas also just revealed why he turned down roles in both The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings.

In Nic’s new film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, he plays a fictionalised version of himself, opposite both Tiffany Haddish and .

He’s at a point in his career where his star is fading, and his personal life is in ruins, leading to him going on the hunt for a way to re-energise it, as well as neglecting his family and 16-year-old daughter Addy (Lily Sheen).

However, in an interview with , the actor was keen to express that in real life he’s a very hands-on father and family man.

Speaking to the outlet, he said: ‘There’s no version of Nic Cage in reality that doesn’t want to spend time with his children.

‘There’s no version of Nic Cage that didn’t put family first over career.

‘I turned down Lord of the Rings and I turned down Matrix because I didn’t want to go to New Zealand for three years or Australia for three years because I needed to be home with my son Weston. That’s a fact.’

In an exclusive conversation with , The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’s writer and director, Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten,.

Disclosing that Nicolas had input into the forthcoming movie’s scripts, they said that he was keen they were edited in order to reflect the fact he wasn’t as narcissistic as he’d been portrayed, and that in real life he’s a loving father.

The duo said:  ‘He liked the scripts, and he agreed to do it, but the big thing that he wanted us to work with him on, was the beginning of the movie in act one, he’s at a pretty low place, and the character that we had written was this really narcissistic dad who wasn’t around that much, and he said guys I’m not this dad, I’m there for my kids, and I’m just not that much of a narcissist. 

‘So it was like finding the balance between having a character who has an arc from narcissist to selfless while also having him feel comfortable and having it feel, you know, real and having a character you could go for a ride with.’
