star has hit out at people who have sent him ‘death threats’ after he posted a photo of himself with his younger sister, blasting the ‘horrific messages’.
In a post shared on his Instagram Story, Chase – who plays John B Routledge in the action teen drama on Netflix – uploaded a selfie he took with his younger sister Rylie Walker.
In the caption, the actor said that his 22-year-old sister had surprised him, tagging her as he wrote: ‘Luv u @ryliewalk [sic].’
Despite the sweet nature of the post, the 29-year-old revealed an hour later that the image of him with his sibling had sparked ‘death threats’.
In a subsequent post shared on his Story, he said that it was ‘absurd’ that he couldn’t post a photo with his sister without experiencing the derogatory messages.
‘The fact that I can’t post a picture with my baby sister without death threats is just f*g absurd. Get a grip,’ he wrote.
‘Family always comes first and at the end of the day if you don’t know my sister and have the audacity to send me horrific messages then just go ahead and click that unfollow.’
Chase said that he ‘will forever be a person who ALWAYS puts my family first’.
He then concluded his statement by writing: ‘With that being said, and with that dumb s**t. I’m out. See you when I see you,’ signing off as ‘C’.
One fan expressed her astonishment over what went down, sharing a screenshot of Chase’s message on Twitter before writing: ‘Fans sent him and her death threats because they didn’t realize she was his sister and thought she was some chick he’s with.. I’m so done with people.’
Someone else remarked: ‘The fact that Chase can’t post a pic of his little sister without receiving death threats is f*****g immature. Y’all need to stfu and leave him and his family alone. @hichasestokes I’m truly sorry.’
Chase first appeared in Outer Banks in 2020, with the second season premiering last year.
In December 2021, it was announced that the show had been renewed for a third outing.
Last November, it was reported that , having started dating in April 2020.
‘Madelyn and Chase are no longer together,’ a source told People Magazine. ‘They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago.’
‘They are definitely broken up,’ another added.
