Katie Holmes has commended Suri Cruise in a very rare comment, ahead of a huge milestone.

However, as Suri – – prepares to go college, her mom couldn’t help but share her pride at being by her side as she takes her next steps.
‘I’m proud of my daughter,’ she told magazine in a new interview. ‘Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.
‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that.’
‘The members of my book club are going to get annoyed hearing from me,’ she laughed. ‘I’ll be like, “Let’s meet once a week.”’
While Katie didn’t share anything else about her daughter with the outlet, it was previously revealed that very soon.
In a montage video posted on TikTok, she could be seen donning a jumper from the college, alongside pals who wore a sweatshirt from their chosen schools.
It is believed that she will be studying fashion, and Carnegie Mellon’s School of Design boasts one of the best programs in the country.
Katie and Tom welcomed their only child together in 2006, shortly before they tied the knot.
However, their relationship wasn’t to last and the Batman actress filed for divorce at the end of June, 2012 – they signed a settlement a few weeks later.
Suri has always shared a close bond with her mom, there have been questions raised about her relationship with her dad, but this has not been addressedpublicly.
However, around the time of her 18th birthday in April, an insider has claimed that there is a rift between the Hollywood star and his youngest child.
According to multiple US outlets, she later ditched Cruise from her name at her high school graduation, and instead went by Suri Noelle – a poignant choice as Noelle is also her mom’s middle name.
An insider told PageSix that she opted to make the switch as she ‘wants her own identity’ and is hoping for a ‘fresh start’ ahead of her upcoming stint at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University.
‘She is showing praise for her mother by using her middle name,’ they said, before adding that this could help her ‘avoid the paparazzi’.
It is currently unclear whether Suri has legally changed her name, but her graduation isn’t the first time it has been used.
The outlet claims that she was listed in the same way in the playbill for her school’s December performance of The Addams Family: A New Musical.
