After they called time on their romance, Cole, 31, said fans sent ‘really nasty stuff’ to his house or his loved ones’ homes.
‘Death threats, really nasty, honestly criminal stuff,’ he continued. ‘And I do think it’s because at least four of us at this table have dated our co-workers.’
Cole was referring to Veronica Lodge and Reggie Mantle actors Camila Mendes and Charles Melton, who started dating in 2018 and broke it off a year later.
‘Is that just a consequence of an incredible love? Or is that what fanaticism looks like? Perhaps because those lines were blurred to our audience, it’s hard to break those things up when life moves on,’ Cole added to .
Cole previously spoke about his split from Lili on theCall Her Daddy podcast and described working together after their break up as ‘hard.’
‘We both did a lot of damage to each other,’ he said.
‘The work thing got difficult because it was hard to suspend the way we felt about each other and it didn’t afford us the luxury of distance to overcome that. We’re good friends now, which is awesome.’
