Rolling Stones de-aged with AI in slick new music video starring Sydney Sweeney as rock n’ roll goddess

Sydney Sweeney has helped The Rolling Stones launch their major comeback, taking centre stage in their sun-kissed new music video. 

The legendary British rockers are , which will feature on their upcoming album Hackney Diamonds, which will be their first of new music since 2005. 

During a press conference in the heart of ’s east end on Wednesday, Metro.co.uk were in attendance as Mick Jagger, 80, Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76, announced their major comeback with talk show host Jimmy Fallon doing the honours of hosting. 

White Lotus actress Sydney also made a surprise appearance in the audience to introduce the band’s new music video for Angry, which sees her cruising through the streets of California with the car roof down as she mouths the lyrics. 

She looks every inch the rock n roll goddess wearing a leather bodice with matching trousers boasting a cut-out pattern for a risque touch. 

As she rides through the streets, Sydney, 25, passes large billboards featuring The Rolling Stones’ performances from their younger days – while the performances are real, AI (artificial intelligence) technology was used to sync the lyrics to the new song.

Speaking about her cameo in the visuals, the Euphoria actress recalled how she ‘freaked out and called [her] family’ after being asked to star in the visuals. 

She added: ‘This is the biggest thing ever. I didn’t know it was going to be the first single but I love the song, it’s stuck in my head.’ 

Sharing an insight into their new lead single, Jagger joked that they wanted the theme of the album to be ‘anger’ but had a ‘second idea, which was to make them a bit more eclectic, with ballads. So we’ve got a mixture.’ 

The Rolling Stones confirmed that two songs on Hackney Diamonds will feature their late drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021 aged 80. Original Stones member Bill Wyman will also make an appearance on one track.

The band were in good spirits as they bantered with host Fallon, who preceded the event by having a drink with Jagger in The Old Ship next to the Hackney Empire the night before. 

During their chit-chat, the Stones joked how they’ve thought about marrying fans before while Fallon impressed the audience with a pretty spot-on impersonation of Jagger. 

The Rolling Stones’ new album Hackeny Diamonds is out on October 20.
