has shared a photo of his mum Linda smiling as she rests up in hospital as he thanked fans for all their messages of support.
The TV presenter, 34, said on Friday after was hospitalised following a fall.
They had been enjoying their first holiday together in ‘a good few years’ when Linda experienced’ quite a bad fall’ which.
‘She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated,’ Rylan explained at the time as he also thanked for covering for him on Radio 2.
On Sunday, the former It Takes Two presenter shared his latest update on Linda, posting a photo of her smiling in hospital, despite having her left leg strapped up and her right arm in a sling.
‘Someone is out of the bed and in a chair,’ the TV star wrote.
‘She can’t believe how many people have sent messages. Thanks everyone. Will update you all with more as I can x,’ he added.
Many of Rylan’s famous friends shared their relief in the comments.
‘Much love Linda ❤️❤️❤️,’ wrote Loose Women star Denise Welch, while Rylan’s BBC Radio 2 colleague Scott shared a string of heart emoji.
‘Give her a big hug from me x,’ replied Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK star Baga Chipz.
Rylan initially shared the news on social media ahead of the weekend, explaining: ‘So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she’s had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here.
‘She’s not in the best health with her other conditions and this has made it more complicated.’
Shouting out toScott for stepping in, Rylan added: ‘Cheers Scott for covering me at Radio 2 and thanks to the people out here that have sent their well wishes.
‘Praying for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Will update you on mummy Linda as and when I can x.’
Following on from that, he delivered the promised update on Friday evening sharing some thankfully good news.
Taking to Instagram, Rylan uploaded a snap of Linda’s hands in her hospital bed.
‘Mum is out of surgery’, he wrote to his 1.7million followers. ‘All went well.’
Assuring that Linda was still her usual jokey self, he added: ‘Asked me if she can still have a new driveway… She’s deffo come round.’
‘Thanks for all your lovely messages x’, he signed off.
Linda and Rylan share a close bond, with her regularly making appearances on his radio show and leaving viewers in stitches alongside her son
Following Rylan moved back in with his mum, who looked after him as he struggled with depression.
The Essex presenter previously said he couldn’t have .
‘I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my mum,’ he shared. ‘I stayed with my mum for that whole time… it was almost like I regressed to being a child again.
‘I couldn’t have done it without her,’ he told Metro.co.uk.
