who won earlier this year, has celebrated her heritage in a stunning photo shoot.
She clinched the top spot with her boyfriend , who she fell for while partaking in the twist. The pair were also the first couple formed at Casa to win the dating show. Although the segment of the show is famed for destroying relationships, they managed to make something special blossom.
The social worker has embraced her new reality star profession and explained how the show led her down a road of discovery.
‘I only really started to look into my heritage when I was on Love Island when people started to question if I was Indian or Caribbean – people didn’t understand what Indo/Caribbean was,’ she revealed.
She added to: ‘But I was starting to see so many positive comments from girls who finally felt represented!
‘I have always felt like I’ve had a bit of an identity crisis because I haven’t felt like I fit in with the Indian culture, but I also don’t feel like I fit in with the Caribbean side either.’
For the special photo shoot which celebrated Sanam’s Indian heritage, she stunned in Nikaza Asian Couture bridal outfits which were perfectly complimented with Red Dot Jewels jewelry.
One member of Sanam’s family was particularly enthralled to see her all dressed up in the traditional garments – her mum.
‘My mum was so excited for me,’ she shared.
Kai was also enamored by Sanam’s glamorous photos, which were shot at Ashridge House in Berkhamsted.
He commented the short but short ‘Beautiful ?’ under Sanam’s Instagram gallery of her favourite snaps. Kai also shared her post on his stories and wrote ‘Real life Disney Princess’. We stan a supportive boyfriend.
Relationship milestones are being ticked off left, right, and centre for Sanam and Kai, both 25.
The pair have , and next on their list is a big trip: ‘I was born in Trinidad and Tobago and I’m looking forward to taking myself and Kai over there to visit my family and show him more of my heritage and culture in the new year.’
Although Sanam looked pristine on the photo shoot she revealed the reality behind the beautiful look.
‘The clothing was so heavy that I got really hot and tired & had to take drink breaks,’ she shared with her 429k followers.
