Selena Gomez has admitted she’s had Botox after a fan gave her grief for her Benny Blanco romance.
The Only Murders In The Building star, 31, dropped a bombshell on fans this week on announcing she and the 35-year-old music producer had been dating for a whole six months already.
Then, in another twist fans were not expecting, she took to just hours later with a . Yikes!
Since the singer’s relationship status update, she’s got a bit of flak online from fans criticising her choice in partner, accusing Benny of ‘shading’ her in the past.
‘Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts,’ she replied.
She added: ‘He has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
‘He is my absolute everything in my heart,’ she wrote under a post on fan page @Selenagomezbr2.0.
When one of her followers wrote a particularly cutting comment, ‘Remove your cheek fillers/implants. It’s messing with your brain,’ Selena then replied: ‘Hahahaha I’ve had bb girl.’
Some Selena fans are convinced the alleged ‘shading’ happened in 2020, when Blanco took an interview to promote he and friend Justin Beiber’s song Lonely.
Of course, Justin and Selena used to be in a relationship, but at this point they had been broken up for two years.
In this interview, some fans reckon Benny fired shots at Selena when he said: ‘Justin is not one of those, like, cookie-cutter pop artists. Like you know, they’re like, “This is my new single and here’s my makeup line.”’
Selena does indeed have a make-up line, Rare Beauty, which she founded in 2019. On February 4 2020, she formally announced her company on social media, and the interview with Benny took place in October that same year.
Whatever Benny’s intentions behind his choice of words, Selena seems pretty smitten now.
From Rihanna and Britney Spears to Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran, Benny’s got songwriting credits on huge hits like RiRi’s Diamonds, Lizzo banger Grrrls and SZA’s Nobody Gets me.
Benny and Selena’s working relationship goes way back too, as he produced her 2015 Revival songs Same Old Love and Kill Em’ With Kindness, as well as her 2017 track with Cashmere Cat, Trust Nobody.
In March 2019, they released a collaboration I Can’t Get Enough, in which Benny dances with Selena in the video. In August, the pair crossed paths again as Benny produced Selena’s Single Soon.
Over the past few years, Selena has firmly behind closed doors, having previously been in high-profile relationships with Justin and The Weeknd.
