Simon Cowell announces latest business venture following his slow departure from music fame

announced he was stepping back from the world of television talent contests behind for a – and an investment portfolio that included a alcohol brand. 

The 63-year-old music mogul recentlyand downsized his record label Syco as he changed the direction of his life in the spotlight. 

Despite relinquishing some control over his music businesses, he wasn’t quite ready to retire as he signed on the dotted line to co-own Harry Blu – a distillery based in Miami and founded by Harry Blustein.

Simon shared news updating his fans on his latest venture on Twitter where he penned on Friday: ‘Harry Blu are an incredibly dedicated small team with great taste and passion that has built their business. I am excited to be apart of the next phase of their growth.’ 

He added a link to the brand’s website underneath his announcement of his partnership with the American company.

Fans reacted to the news and wished him well as he began the next phase of his career in the drinks industry.

One said: ‘Congrats Simon. Taste and passion are great ingredients. Cheers’, while another joked: ‘Congrats!! Let us know if you need some experienced taste testers’. 

The star also added how he was feeling about the new job in a press release from the brand itself.

He said: ‘I was thrilled when I was asked if I would like to join the Harry Blu brand. The sheer number of awards they have won is a testament to the quality of their product. 

‘They are an incredibly dedicated small team with great taste and passion that has built their business. I am excited to be part of the next phase of their growth.’

Co-owner Harry followed Simon’s words and added: ‘We couldn’t be prouder to have Simon on board as a partner. To say he has “discerning tastes” is putting it lightly. 

‘To get his stamp of approval and have him join the HARRY BLU’S family means the world to us and with his help, we’re ready to introduce our fine spirits to a wider audience. 

‘With Simon’s larger-than-life personality and international profile, I’m hopeful we can bring HARRY BLU’S to the multitudes.
