Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster merrily lark around together in car after night on the town

and wife look to have had a delightful evening out on Wednesday night as they were pictured laughing and kissing in the back of their car home.

The 77-year-old rocker and his 51-year-old model wife, who were spotted at the Cheltenham Festival last month, hit swanky club Oswald’s in Mayfair and were in excellent spirits as they left the venue.

Maggie May singer Sir Rod looked dapper as ever in a cream jacket, grey trousers, crisp white shirt and polka dot tie.

He finished off his ensemble with a pair of fetching two-tone grey and white brogues.

Meanwhile volunteer policewoman Penny, who with the City of London Police, wore a chic back suit and playful animal print blouse.

She had her long blonde hair loose and beamed as the pair left the club, accessorising her look with gold earrings and a black handbag.

Once in the car, she leaned over to plant a smacker on the lips of her slightly bemused husband as the pair radiated happiness.

Penny has previously revealed that while wrapping Yuletide presents to lift her husband’s festive spirits.

Making the revelation on Loose Women, she explained that her husband ‘doesn’t love Christmas’ so she makes an extra effort until ‘he’s got his house back to normal’.

She told her fellow panellists: ‘And just to lift his mood, I put a little Father-y, Lady Christmas outfit on – like I wore on Loose Women once! Lady Christmas, yeah! Puts a big smile on his face!’

We have no doubt.

Meanwhile, an encounter with Sir Rod remains lurking in McFly star ’s mind many years later, after the music legend within hearing.

In an exclusive interview with Metro’s Guilty Pleasures, he explained: ‘Once Rod called us – or called [bandmate] Danny [Jones] – and he was on loud speaker and he didn’t know he was on loud speaker.

‘He was telling Danny that Danny should have sung all the songs because his voice is way better than mine, and I was like, “Hi Rod, I’m here.” It was an awful moment.’

The group – also comprised of Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd – are busy putting the final touches to their new album, which the star teased ‘feels like we’ve remembered who McFly is’ after their 2020 record Young Dumb Thrills marked their first together in 10 years.
