star has shared a particularly bizarre tip for going into labour – and it’s to do with marshmallows.
The Irish TV presenter, 39, is heading into the ballroom later this year, alongside the likes of , , , , and
And while she might be preparing to dust off her dancing shoes, she’s been helping her sister prepare for another pretty big moment.
Taking to Instagram, mum-of-two Angela penned: ‘The most gorgeous 24 hours with my sister ahead of her babe arriving.’
She then went on to list some of her ‘tips’, including marshmallows to avoid ‘heavy duty chewing while heavy duty mooing’.
Angela wrote: ‘Hospital bag being packed…. I’ve told her all my tips-a playlist longer than 152 minutes (!!), an eye mask, coconut water, marshmallows (no one needs to be heavy duty chewing while heavy duty mooing ?) Any random favourites she should pack?!’
She attached a selfie with her sis, as well as an update on her last few days, including some floral scenery and Dolly Alderton’s upcoming book.
While some fans took to the comments to share their own tips, others were rather caught up with the marshmallow line.
Her tip advised women in labour to bring soft, easy to digest food with them, that can be comfortably eaten during labour, which often involves some awkward positioning, including squatting and kneeling on all fours.
Women are generally advised to eat easy to digest snacks and foods that don’t waste too much energy on chewing during labour, and marshmallows definitely tick that box!
In the same vein, plenty of other users advised bringing straws to aid in drinking from hard-to-swallow positions.
One wrote: ‘Am I having a baby? No. Did I save this in case one day I need to remember the marshmallow tip? Yes.’
‘Wish I had heard about the marshmallows before!’ another wrote, before including their own tips.
Resharing the post on her Instagram stories, Angela wrote that it reminded her of when she was about to pop with her second child, as she shared some adorable pictures of her eldest daughter preparing to be a big sister.
Angela and her husband Roy Horgan, who married in 2014 and keep their private lives out of the spotlight, are parents to two daughters, Ruby Ellen and Marnie.
Announcing her place on Strictly Come Dancing earlier this month, Angela said: ‘I’m excited. I’m not great at keeping a secret, it’s a bit of a relief. But it’s all very real now.’
She added: ‘I’ve told a few people. If you tell me a secret and it’s super guarded you can people confident I’m not going to blab it, but I’ve told 1700 of my closest friends.
‘I have no idea how my pelvic floor will react to that level of jumping.’
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One later this year.
