Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster would love to battle Grizzled Young Veterans in IMPACT Wrestling.
The IMPACT Wrestling World Tag Team Champions know Zack Gibson and James Drake, who currently appear in NXT group Schism as Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid, from their on the British independent scene and they want the duo to get the chance to prove how brilliant they really are.
Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, Mark laughed: ‘Let’s run it back boys! Come over, the water’s fine!’
Gibson and Drake’s future is uncertain after they publicly revealed they have requested their releases from WWE, while boss as long as they’re under contract.
Flash insisted if they aren’t going to be let loose there, Subculture would be delighted to give them that spotlight in IMPACT.
He explained: ‘It’s not even so much me saying they should leave, I want, wherever they are, to use them correctly!
‘So if that involves WWE going, “OK, let’s put a mic back in Gibson’s hand, let’s let them go out and have these tag team classics, let them be the most hated tag team in wrestling today”.
‘If WWE can do that and give them that platform, then stay there, brilliant – make loads of money, stay there, and let the world see what they can do.’
Mark added: ‘Hopefully, [they can go to the] main roster making loads and loads of money with all the tag belts – because fingers crossed, that’s what they deserve!’
However, if that opportunity isn’t forthcoming, he hopes Gibson and Drake can be allowed to shine elsewhere.
‘Let them show the world what they can do,’ he added. ‘They are some of our favourite opponents both singles and as a tag team. Those two lads really have the world at their feet and they could be one of the best tag teams in the world, if given a chance.
‘As we said, please just put a mic in their hands, and let them put their wrestling boots back on and go to work. We want the Grizzled Young Veterans in wrestling.’
Subculture are not short of challengers in IMPACT, having already fought the likes of ABC and legendary team the Motor City Machine Guns since joining this summer following their WWE releases last year.
‘It’s been incredibly rewarding for us, going to IMPACT and them putting their faith in us in matches like Motor City Machine Guns, ABC, with the tag straps,’ Mark admitted.
‘It’s been incredibly validating for us after a year, or maybe a few years, of feeling like we weren’t good enough. But now, not only feeling like we are, I but I know that we are. It’s been a real proving ground moment for us.’
