Call Me Kat has been cancelled after ratings began to dwindle in the third and now last season of the comedy.
Starring ’s Mayim Bialik, who to also produce the sitcom, Call Me Kat was the adaptation of Miranda following a 39-year-old single woman called Kat determined to prove you can also not have everything and still be happy.
‘We are very proud of Call Me Kat. But, unfortunately, the audience response to it was not as strong as we had hoped,’ said a Fox spokesperson.
‘We are thankful for our partnership with Warner Bros. Television, That’s Wonderful Productions, Sad Clown Productions, BBC Studios, , Jim Parsons and the entire cast and crew for their work and dedication to Call Me Kat.’
Fans were crushed by the news, with many a crying face emoji popping up on Twitter and posts which simply read: ‘Noooooo.’
‘I Hate Call Me Kat was cancelled. Made my week. Any chance of them changing their minds?’ asked one of Bialik’s fans, while someone else conceded that while they were ;sad’ it’s ovrt, actually ‘I do like how it ended’.
There is also a petition to save the show, which currently has a total of three signatures at the time of writing.
The news came just hours after the season three final aired in the US, with Bialik urging fans to catch up on streaming without addressing the cancelation.
Call me Kat also starred Leslie Jordan, who midway through filming the third season.
The 10th episode, titled Call Me Philliam, paid tribute not only to the character, but broke the fourth wall to acknowledge Jordan.
Call Me Kat is available to stream on Hulu in the US.
