Things got very emotional for as a dad broke down in tears watching his daughter audition for Australia.
The pop star, 32, judges the Aussie edition of the singing competition alongsideJason Derulo, 33, Jessica Mauboy, 33, and Guy Sebastian, 41.
And just like any version of The Voice, with stealing the hearts of viewers everywhere.
Chris Watson, 53, auditioned for the hit Channel Seven reality show initially to inspire his daughter, Shanae, 21, to conquer her fears and get out on stage.
It was a controversial rule change, but The Voice bosses allowed it and Shanae was able to perform in front of the coaches after meeting them during her dad’s earlier performance.
However, no one was prepared for what was to follow.
‘Shanae can come back to audition, but coaches you won’t know when she’s going to appear,’ host Sonia Kruger explained.
Despite her dad’s confidence in her, coach Guy insisted on reminding Shanae that whether or not a chair turned for her wouldn’t determine how good of a singer she was.
‘Just remember, even if you don’t get a chance it doesn’t mean it’s just another defeat and then you give up,’ he said to her.
‘I’m just taking the heat and the pressure off ourselves in case we don’t turn for you!’
But, Shanae had no reason to worry, as she went on to wow the judges and audience with her cover of Chandelier by Sia.
As the final performance on the first day of blind auditions, the youngster amazed everyone with her powerhouse vocals.
Ridin’ Solo hitmaker Jason was the first judge to press his button and turn around, followed by Guy, Rita, then Jess.
Unable to conceal his pride, dad Chris was soon having an emotional breakdown.
Leaning on his wife as he took in the moment, he sobbed and later said: ‘I’m sorry, I lost it.’
The judges were shocked when they caught a glimpse of the girl behind the voice, immediately recognising Shanae from her dad’s audition.
‘That’s the daughter!’ Guy said excitedly.
Guy then joked that Chris saying his daughter was ‘good’ was an ‘understatement’.
Emotional also, Jasosn said: ‘I’m not a crier, but ooooph, that got me.’
Full of praise for the aspiring recording artist and her family, he added: ‘I want to take a second to actually talk to dad. I am really, really inspired by you and the fact that you went out on a limb so that your daughter could see your courage and she could find the courage for herself. And I think that’s just such a beautiful thing.’
‘And I just want to thank you for that because it really, really inspires me as a father.’
With watery eyes, Hot Right Now hitmaker Rita chimed in: ‘Your father, when he started crying – that got me, just really got me.’
‘It just shows that there’s no ego, there’s no pride, this is just a complete win for the whole family. And that’s what this is all about.’
