star Alisha Edwards thinks her scariest moment in the business was one of her husband Eddie Edwards’ most brutal injuries.

The 37-year-old star – who will be part of the second ever Knockouts Ultimate X Matchon Saturday, January 13 – admitted while her own close calls are easier to shrug off, seeing her man and fellow wrestler in serious pain is tough to deal with.

‘The baseball bat injury to Eddie years ago, that was the scariest thing,’ she exclusively told Metro.co.uk.

Back in March 2018, Eddie was accidentally caught in the face by a baseball bat swung by in a wild post-match brawl, when the stunt went badly wrong.

The wrestler was left with broken bones in his face and nose, and his wife admitted that’s one of a few terrifying moments that stick out for her.

‘At Final Resolution, Eddie got thrown outside the ring and he fell on a bleacher. And literally, I was on ringside, so I saw the whole thing happen. And he slices his head, and he had to get rushed to the hospital for some stitches,’ she recalled.

‘So I would say anything that I personally can see my husband doing. I was there when he shattered his foot.’

Alisha added: ‘I mean, it’s not me personally, but I think it is – because when you personally go through something, it’s weird because you don’t see it. You just feel it. So I think the most scary things are me seeing people get hurt.’

The loved up couple, who have pledged their future to TNA Wrestling, have been able to forge their own paths and reputations separately while still working together on screen, particularly in recent months.

Alesha admitted there was ‘no hesitation’ when it came to their relationship being part of the show.

‘No hesitation at all. I think me and Eddie are very comfortable individually and we’re stronger together. So I think there wouldn’t be any issues or any resistance toward that,’ she explained. ‘Me and Eddie are definitely ride or die for each other.’

Having the ability to still do their own things was exactly what they both ‘wanted to do’, particularly with being able to tell other stories and not automatically be a predictable pairing.

‘That’s the normal thing to do. Like, the wife goes with the husband, and that’s it,’ she said.

‘So I think us being able to do that little swerve, and being able to kind of still do my own thing, while Eddie had his thing as being a heel – I think that’s what, creatively, we can do that makes us happy.’

She added: ‘Because not many places, you’re able to do things like that. So I think being able to do that, at IMPACT, and on our own terms is exactly why we stayed.’

This weekend, Alisha gets another chance to shine as she competes in Ultimate X against Xia Brookside, Gisele Shaw, Jody Threat, Dani Luna and Tasha Steelz.

She has been ‘manifesting and keeping her fingers crossed’ about being part of this year’s match, which comes after her 37th birthday on Sunday.

‘I was very blessed to be part of the first one,’ she admitted, describing this year as the ‘best birthday gift ever’.

TNA Wrestling: Hard To Kill airs Saturday, January 13 at 1am on TrillerTV.
