Hoda Kotb has shared an update on her daughter’s health, after Hope was recently rushed to hospital.
The Today show host from her hosting duties, and later explained that her youngest child, three, had spent time in ICU.
Speaking about how the little one – who she shares ex Joel Schiffman – is doing now, the 58-year-old revealed that .
‘Hope’s doing much better, much better,’ she said. ‘I think it’s going to be a longer road, but she is doing great.
‘We have figured out kind of a rhythm and life throws all kinds of curve balls at you and it’s sort of like what do you do with it, and it’s funny because no matter what you go through if you look over to the left or over to the right, someone else is going through something much more difficult.
‘So we say count our blessings, let’s move forward, let’s have a real fun summer, and let’s just keep it rolling.’
The TV anchor added to that her eldest daughter, six-year-old Haley, has rallied around Hope and has been ‘really supportive’.
Hoda was notably away from our screens for two weeks in February, leaving Today show viewers worried about her absence.
Returning to the studio at the beginning of March, Hoda shed light on the reason behind her brief exit and detailed her youngest daughter’s health issues.
‘My youngest, Hope, was in the ICU for a few days, and in the hospital for a little more than a week,’ she said in an emotional segment.
‘I’m so grateful she’s home, she is back home. I was waiting for that day to come, and we are watching her closely. I’m just so happy.
‘I’m grateful for the doctors at Weill Cornell who were amazing and the nurses. And I’m grateful for my family and I’m grateful to friends like you who were there every single day.
‘So, I want to say thank you for that. I love you.’
