During Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women, the announcement of the return of the show was made following its recent Royal Television Society Award for Daytime Programming win.
In the promo for the special, which had previously been praised for leading the conversation and smashing taboos talking about men’s mental and physical health, the Loose Men pledge to tackle the topics affecting men right now.
Speaking about what to expect, Tommy said they would be ‘letting their guards down’, while Martin said they would ‘break through the barricades’.
Meanwhile Paul said they were committed to ‘open up like never before’.
Explaining that they would be ‘feeling the fear’, Vernon said they were tackling it all head on because, ‘when it comes to us lads, loose talk can save lives’.
The first Loose Men panel , marking the first time in Loose Women’s 21-year history it had been rebranded in this way.
Last year’s episode, which featured Strictly Come Dancing star Ore Oduba, Good Morning Britain’s Andi Peters, Diversity’s Jordan Banjo and The Chase’s Shaun Wallace, and was praised after the panellists talked openly about topics including the last time they cried, and body dysmorphia.
Last month, the show was singled out at the Royal Television Society Awards, being named as the best daytime programme.
Loose Men airs on Thursday May 18 at 12.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
