Fans are convinced Randy Orton is primed for a return after Rev Theory have teased a new version of his theme song.
The band behind one of Voices – one of ’s most iconic entrance themes – have dropped plans for a fresh remix of the track and plenty of people are hoping it’s a hint the Viper is preparing for a comeback.
The legendary wrestler hasn’t been seen on screen since May 2022 , and it’s been a long time since there was any update on his status.
However, fans are holding out hope for a triumphant return, and they think the new version – which songs heavier than the original – could be a sign.
In a tongue in cheek video announcing the track, they said: ‘The most iconic wrestling theme song of all time, now redefined and reimagined by Rev Theory. Badder, meaner and more raw then the original.
‘Brace your balls and prepare for an eargasm. Save, download and tell a friend! Orton. Voices. Orton. Voices.’
One fan wondered: ‘Rev Theory is releasing a newer version of Randy Orton’s “Voices” theme song later this month. Does this mean an Orton return is imminent? ?’
‘Randy Orton better return with this official @revtheory remix version of Voices,’ tweeted another hopeful fan, while a third wrote: ‘Randy returns soon ?’
And yet another fan predicted: ‘Nahhhh Rev Theory releasing Voices 2023! Randy Orton coming back to this theme FO SHO (sic)’
According to previous reports, the Viper had been dealing with his back injury for a while, with the situation getting ‘progressively worse’, and over summer there were concerns he could undergo surgery and miss the remainder of 2022.
Official news has been few and far between since then – although his dad Bob Orton claimed he’s – but Randy’s wife Kim Orton did give fans an last week.
She shared a picture of the third generation wrestler massaging her foot as he stares down the camera with his trademark intense glare, and wrote: ‘? ? ? always on my digits #luckyme❤️’
Earlier last year, the admitted he had started to ‘feel’ the effects of his signature RKO finishing move.
‘I kind of wish I could go back in time and create a finishing move that didn’t entail me jumping up as high as I can and landing on my back,’ he told back in January.
‘After doing that a couple of thousand times over the last few decades, I’m starting to feel it.’
