legend Jim Ross has given fans a detailed update on his health after suffering a nasty fall last month.

The 71-year-old commentator, now working as a broadcaster for All Elite Wrestling, was sporting a black eye and sounded out of sorts during the June 17 debut of AEW Collision, having fallen earlier in the day.

He later told fans he was , and now he has revealed he is ‘getting better every day’.

‘I just had a string of bad luck, health wise, which is very unusual for me because, knock on wood, I’ve been very blessed with good health,’ he said in the Grilling JR .

JR went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but ‘tripped of his CPAP cord’, and ‘fell face-first into the end table’ by his bed.

The corner struck his eye, which ‘swelled shut almost immediately’, and he ended up going to the toilet and getting back into bed.

Despite the injury and, he went to work and flew to Chicago, despite everything feeling ‘very foggy’.

After the show, during which JR did not sound like his usual self, he realised ‘something’s not right’, and when he got to his hotel he ‘didn’t even get undressed that night’.

‘I’ve been out of the house a few times to go to the grocery store, maybe two or three times in the last few weeks,’ he continued.

‘Other than that, I’ve got people that are helping me get groceries or whatever I need, prescriptions, things like that. But I was too unsteady to drive, and sure as hell too unsteady to walk around a grocery store.

‘So I had my housekeeper buy me a little cane, which I’m embarrassed to say I’ve used a little bit, not outside, but here in the house to help me get around so I don’t have any more falls.’

Ross added that when he woke up, there was ‘a lot of blood’ on his pillows.

He added: ‘I was very lucky I woke up. I was very lucky I didn’t bleed out because I had a lot of blood on my pillow cases. I had to fight through it, and I’ve been fighting through it ever since.’

As well as the concussion, he is also struggling to see out of one eye, and he currently has no ‘return date’ when it comes to AEW, with boss Tony Khan giving him the time he needs.

‘There’s nothing more important than our health. So many times, we take it for granted, and I have for years. So I’m gonna be a little bit more aware of my health,’ he said.

However, he insisted: ‘It’s time to be smarter. I haven’t called my last wrestling match. I just don’t know when the next one’s gonna be.’
