Raw featured plenty of big surprises this week, with making a shock return to align herself with The OC.
AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson finally have some backup to neutralise the threat of Rhea Ripley in their battle with the Judgment Day, and it’s a chance for Yim to shine in a way she never could as a member of.
It all started when Seth Rollins came down to the ring only to be interrupted by Judgment Day, with Finn Balor arguing his case for a shot at the United States Title given their history over the Universal Championship.
Before the Visionary accepted, The OC came out (allowing Seth to make a sneaky exit) as AJ Styles revealed the group has found someone to handle .
Cue Mia Yim, who attacked the former Raw Women’s Champion at ringside as a brawl broke out between the two factions.
Styles, Yim, Gallows and Anderson stood tall in a great moment, albeit one the crowd – who unfortunately weren’t too lively for much of the night – didn’t give the reaction it deserves.
Still, Mia is a fantastic addition to the Raw roster, and the eventual singles match between her and Ripley will be absolutely fantastic when it finally happens.
Bianca Belair shouts WarGames, Austin Theory fails to cash in Money In The Bank on Seth Rollins and more
The other major story coming out of Raw was focused on Austin Theory, and a baffling series of events at the end of the show, so we’ll pick things up there and then look at the rest of the night.
After beating Shelton Benjamin in a very fun sprint earlier on – please, more of the Gold Standard even as someone making other talent look – Theory featured heavily in the closing moments.
First, Bobby Lashley, who took out Mustafa Ali backstage, came out after Seth Rollins seemingly embraced his status as a fan favourite once more with the All Mighty appearing to accept the open challenge for the US Title.
Instead, he utterly decimated the Visionary at ringside and sent him crashing through a table before being made to leave, which gave Theory an opening to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase, setting up a match with Seth.
He looked set to win the gold, but Lashley pulled the referee out of the ring and attacked Theory, who crawled back in the ring only to be hit by a Stomp in one of the most bizarre failed cash-ins ever.
At the top of the show, The Usos and Solo Sikoa came out to brag about Jimmy and Jey’s , while the fans loudly cheered for Sami Zayn.
The New Day confronted their longtime rivals to hype up their title match on SmackDown later this week, and this was a strong reminder of their history together, and what’s at stake on Friday.
Matt Riddle came down for some comic relief, leading to a stellar six-man tag given plenty of time before Sikoa pinned Riddle for the win.
JBL introduced Baron Corbin for a fun and fairly dominating win over Cedric Alexander, while later in the night Elias took on Otis.
The pair had an entertaining big man match, with the Alpha Academy star’s partner Chad Gable distracting the troubadour and giving Otis an opening for the World’s Strongest Slam and the win.
Damage CTRL had a fiery exchange with Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss to set up their WarGames match later this month at Survivor Series, while and aligned with Bayley’s group, leaving their opponents in need of a fourth teammate.
The Miz claimed Johnny Gargano was lying during last week’s tell-all interview, but his rival showed footage of the A-Lister admitting to a secret private investigator that all the accusations are true, and he did pay off Dexter Lumis.
This led to a match between Gargano and Miz, with Miz cheating his way to victory before Lumis belted him with a chair after the bell.
Nikki Cross found herself beating Dana Brooke for the 24/7 Championship in a strong win to get the gold, leaving with her new Damage CTRL but apparently tossing the title away in a strange moment.
