crowned new Women’s Tag Team Champions on Raw as Green and Sonya Deville scored a major upset.
The hilariously entertaining duo capitalised on the aftermath of an attack by Rhea Ripley to beat Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and capture their first titles in the company.
Backstage before the bout, Liv and Raquel were hyping up the huge match and insisted they weren’t afraid of anybody – cue Rhea.
The Women’s World Champion ended up attacking Liv and booting Raquel in the knee during the ensuing scrap, seemingly injuring the champ.
It meant the underdog was going at it effectively on her own, with her partner at a clear disadvantage during the bout.
In the end, Sonya and Chelsea were able to score the surprising win to claim the gold, celebrating wildly before telling Bryan Saxton that they will run the division.
Later in the show, Liv got a measure of revenge in the blockbuster main event as she took out Rhea at ringside while Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio and Damian Priest were challenging Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag team Titles.
Brock Lesnar decimates Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Namakura lays out Tommaso Ciampa, Finn Balor attacks Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes opened the show with a passionate homecoming as he greeted the fans in Atlanta, Georgia and got emotional seeing his own mother on the front row.
However, it didn’t go well for the American Nightmare as he got ambushed by Brock Lesnar and utterly decimated with a chair shot, F-5 and Kimura Locks.
The attack, which ended up right in front of Cody’s mum, left him lying on the mat as the Beast accepted .
GUNTHER was going at it alone this week with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci barred from ringside for the Ring General’s Intercontinental Title defence, and the champ retained in a highly physical match with a huge Powerbomb to put Matt Riddle down, before .
The Judgment Day came out to discuss, with Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens interrupting and accepting the call for the titles to be on the line in the main event.
Before that took place, midway through the show Finn Balor interrupted Seth Rollins’ sit down interview and vowed to ruin his life at SummerSlam, before attacking him with a steel chair.
In turn, Seth attacked him before the main event got underway, while Liv’s interference was another blow to Judgment Day as they challenge for gold in a fantastic main event.
In the end, that distraction led to the finish as Sami hit the Helluva Kick on Dom for the win.
Elsewhere, The Viking Raiders beat Alpha Academy in an absolutely brilliant Viking Rules match, complete with Valhalla sending Maxxine Dupri through a table.
Shayna Baszler destroyed Nikki Cross before Ronda Rousey appeared in the press box, with the best friends turned rivals exchanging strong words and making their SummerSlam match official.
Becky Lynch was entertaining as the guest on Miz TV, with Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark joining the fun and laying down a challenge where if Becky loses, she has to thanked the Hall of Famer on her knees and get ‘thank you Trish’ tattooed on her chest.
The Man got the last laugh, laying out the duo with Trish’ own protective face mask.
Ricochet challenged Logan Paul to meet him face to face next week (he accepted on Twitter), before Tommaso Ciampa attacked ‘Big’ Bronson Reed during his match against Shinsuke Nakamura.
The latter wasn’t happy with the disqualification loss, and laid out Ciampa with a huge kick.
