superstar Dominik Mysterio has revealed how he thinks Eddie Guerrero would have enhanced his rivalry with dad Rey Mysterio.

The second generation wrestler – who will face Cody Rhodes tonight at Money In The Bank in London – was before his tragic death aged 38 in 2005, and he thinks that bond would have made for a fascinating story if he was still alive today.

He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think in a perfect world, if Eddie was still here, he would have been on my dad’s side, a special guest referee [at WrestlMania]. And at the end of the day, he would have picked my side.

‘I think he would’ve been with my dad all along, telling him that he’s going to handle business, “he’s just going through a phase”, and at the end of the day he comes with me.’

Latino Heat’s presence was still felt during Rey and Dominik’s emotional father/son match at WrestleMania 39 in April, with his music blaring out.

Dom recalled: ‘I went through a rollercoaster of emotions with that match. Being a West Coast guy and hearing Snoop Dogg’s music come out first – I couldn’t bop my head or get down to it because he picked the wrong team, so I had to hate on Snoop Dogg for a little bit!

‘And then Eddie’s music hits, and of course that hits a special nerve in me. “My God, this dude, he’s really trying to pull the strings here”. And then that classic Rey Mysterio music – it was all just a very surreal moment.’

It’s a different kind of emotion for Dom this weekend, as he prepares to face Cody Rhodes in a featured bout with Rhea Ripley by his side, while the rest of the Judgment Day are also in prominent spots.

‘I’m feeling petty good,’ he said. ‘The entirety of Judgment Day has big matches at Money In The Bank! ‘[Finn Balor[ has his world title match against [Seth Rollins], my boy [Damian Priest] is in the Money In The Bank match, I’m wrestling Cody with Mami by my side.’

Dom’s rivalry with the American Nightmare has built over the past month, and he’s feeling confident despite going in against the universally loved veteran.

‘I’ve been getting the upper hand on him the past couple of weeks on Raw by blindsiding him and attacking him. I think I’m slowly getting in his head, so I’m feeling pretty good going into this match,’ he added.

The two stars are at polar opposites when it comes to reactions from the crowd, with Dom getting used to the boos raining down on him every time he steps out in an arena, no matter where he is around the world.

He’s loving every single minute of it.

‘I’m having an absolute blast! And it’s kind of crazy, man, that I’m out here getting booed. I’m just trying to speak my truth,’ he quipped. ‘I’m just trying to let people know how I’m feeling.

‘It sounds like they don’t wanna listen – they don’t deserve to hear what I have to say anyways. It’s gonna be an interesting night in .’
