Wolves assistant coach Tony Roberts branded ‘a big lump’ affter the striker won a controversial penalty during Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

‘Incredible feeling to do it in front of our away fans and I thought we deserved more,’ said the Wolves skipper after his late intervention. ‘To come back like that shows the character of the team and to score in front of the away fans like that was a special feeling.
‘We’ve had a few weeks where we’ve not been good enough. I thought we could have maybe nicked it but to come away with a point was good.’
‘We had character, discipline and were compact. We love playing for our football club every single day so it was more about performance – we’ve spoken about that. It was important we looked at ourselves.
‘It hurts players and we’re human beings so you don’t like to hear that [people saying Wolves won’t get European football] but we looked at our performances and they weren’t good enough so we can understand people’s opinions.’
