Gabby Agbonlahor believes should apologise to after the striker revealed that he is talking to other clubs.

Lacazette, 30, will be out of contract at the Emirates come the summer and has been heavily linked with a return to Lyon.

In an interview with earlier this week, the Frenchman spoke of his desire to play in the and let slip that he was sounding out a new club despite manager Mikel Arteta asking him to focus on the Gunners’ top four push.

‘If he wants to play Champions League football the only team he’ll be playing it at is Partizan Belgrade or Panathinaikos. He won’t be playing it at a big club because he can’t hit a barn door.

‘The audacity to say that he wants to play Champions League football when he’s putting in performances that are lacklustre is an insult to Arsenal, to be honest. I think he should apologise.

‘Maybe he would be playing Champions League football for Arsenal if he could score a goal.’

Lacazette has not played in the Champions League since joining Arsenal in 2017.

This term, he has scored just four league goals and has struggled to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who left to join Barcelona in January.

Having started the campaign off brightly, a gradual downturn in performance has resulted in him losing his starting place to Eddie Nketiah, who scored twice against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

On the issue of a new contract, Arteta disclosed that the club would look to sit down with Lacazette in the summer.

He said: ‘His contract situation allows him to make the decision about his future. We have expressed clearly what our intention is – to speak in the summer once we know where we are, about what we are going to do in the future together.’
