Arsenal invincible Lauren believes the Gunners have a major advantage over Manchester City in the title race.
The Gunners saw their lead at the top stripped back on Sunday following their 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
Mikel Arteta’s side had a two-goal lead on Merseyside but they wereafter Liverpool missed a penalty and squandered three golden chances.
Arsenal’s lead is now down to six points and City have a game in hand on the Gunners before they take on another at the Etihad later this month.
Despite the pressure mounting on Arsenal, the club are solely focused on the Premier League and have one game a week until the end of the campaign, unlike in the Champions League quarter-finals.
And Lauren believes the Gunners’ ability to solely focus on the title race could prove vital at the end of the term.
‘It’s more than just a distraction, it is the reality when you play in the ,’ Lauren told .
‘There’s huge pressure at from everyone involved, to win the Champions League. They’ve failed during Pep’s time there to win it, so for these they will put out their strongest side, they will need full intensity, everything to come through their European games.
‘All of this effort they will need to give could benefit Arsenal.
‘I also think that, if Arsenal are going to win the league, it was not a bad scenario that they lost to Sporting Lisbon and are out of the .
‘Arsenal have a young and relatively small squad that is not used to playing every three or four days at full intensity and I don’t think the squad were going to go the distance in both.
‘So I think that it could benefit Arsenal that Manchester City are still in the Champions League.’
Arsenal take on West Ham at the London Stadium next Sunday, with the Hammers fighting for survival at the bottom.
City also take on a relegation-threatened side as Leicester City visit the Etihad.
The title rivals take on one another at the Etihad on April 26th.
