left-back Kieran Tierney has shared a positive update after undergoing knee surgery and thanked fans for their support.
The defender missed the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to on Monday night after feeling discomfort following a training session.
Tierney has undergone an operation and is set to miss the remainder of the Premier League campaign for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The 24-year-old is also a doubt for Scotland’s scheduled playoff semi-final against in June.
In a post on his Instagram stories, Tierney revealed that the surgery was a success.
‘Op went well,’ wrote the defender.
‘Thanks so much for all the messages of support.
‘Really appreciate it. ’
Arsenal’s injury problems don’t end there, with Thomas Partey forced off in the defeat to Palace.
The midfielder is also set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining ‘muscle damage’ to his thigh.
‘Thomas has since received further assessments, and a subsequent scan has shown muscle damage to his right thigh,’ the club said.
‘We will continue to assess Thomas in the coming weeks, during which time he will also receive further specialist consultations.
‘Everyone will be working hard to get Thomas back on the pitch as soon as possible.’
