have set a deadline of midnight on Friday to accept their latest – and final – offer for , according to reports.

The German champions have been chasing the captain for most of the summer and club chiefs Jan-Christian Dreesen and Marco Neppe flew to London on Monday .

Although Kane is manager Thomas Tuchel’s number one target to belatedly fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski, Bayern are not prepared for talks to drag on much longer.

According to , they have informed Levy that they want a response one way or another by midnight on Friday or they will begin looking at other targets.

Kane is keen to move to Bavaria and already has a broad agreement on personal terms, though he will not force through the move.

The 30-year-old has no intention of leaving Spurs on bad terms nor does he want to disrupt the club’s start to the new Premier League season under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

But it seems unlikely that Tottenham chief Levy will bow to the pressure from Bayern, particularly with reporting that the final, take-it-or-leave-it offer is worth significantly less than Spurs were hoping for.

Although Kane is in the final year of his contract, Levy was hoping to secure a fee in excess of £100million for a player who scored 30 Premier League goals last season.

But the German publication are reporting that Bayern’s final offer is worth a fixed sum of €85million (£73.4m) plus a further €10m (£8.6) in bonuses – a total figure of £82m that is still some way short of Spurs’ valuation.

There had been suggestions Tottenham were interested in trying to sign Bayern youngster Mathys Tel as part of the talks, but the Frenchman has no desire to leave.

Bayern believe Kane has made them his number one choice to join and is willing to wait until next summer to move to Bavaria on a free transfer, even though he will have his pick of clubs when he is out of contract.

There are suggestions Kane with Spurs once the summer window has shut, and Levy is hoping Postecoglou’s exiting brand of football can convince him to stay in north London beyond 2024.

In addition to the Kane saga, Tottenham are also busy in the transfer market themselves and are close to finalising a deal for Wolfsburg centre-back Micky van de Ven while they are in talks with Rosario Central to sign Argentine wonderkid Alejo Veliz.
