Cafu has labelled Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘one of the best right-backs in the world’, and admitted he sees similarities between himself and the Liverpool star.
The 23-year-old has played a key role in the recent success of ’s side with his attacking output from full-back.
Alexander-Arnold excelled as the Reds won the in 2019, and the Premier League a year later, while this season, they are still in contention to win an unprecedented quadruple.
The England international has registered two goals and 12 assists in the Premier League this season.
And Cafu, who is one of the greatest right-backs of all time, has noticed plenty of elements from his own game when watching Alexander-Arnold.
‘I have been following Alexander-Arnold and the campaign he has had at Liverpool. His progress over the last few years has been amazing and for sure is one of the best right-backs in the world,’ the Brazil legend told .
‘He is young, strong and has developed hugely considering his age. He also has a lot of experience and I see a lot of similarities between him and myself.
‘We both had a will and commitment to attack, to go forward and have the boldness to shoot and to put the crosses in.
‘The diagonal movements he makes on the pitch are also similar to what I was making as a player.’
Liverpool’s title chase is going down to the final day of the season, with the Reds trailing league leaders Manchester City by just one point.
Klopp’s side face Wolves at Anfield, while City take on Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
