has sent a message to after sacking him as Inter Miami head coach.

Inter Miami have taken the decision to sack Neville with the team bottom of the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference with just 15 points in 15 games.

Former Women boss Neville recently slammed a journalist in a foul-mouthed rant and hit out at Inter Miami supporters for booing his son.

The pressure has mounted on the former Class of 92 star – brother of Gary Neville – and the ex-Manchester United defender has now lost his job at the MLS side after two-and-a-half years in the role.

Beckham, in a statement posted on the club’s website, said: ‘When we appointed Phil we knew he would give Inter Miami his all and I have watched him work incredibly hard and with real commitment towards the ambitions we set out for the club.

‘He and his family embraced Miami and he has devoted himself to the drive to bring success to the city and to our fans.

‘Phil has made a real contribution to the culture of our club with his qualities as a leader and knowledge as a coach.

‘Sometimes in this game we have to make the toughest decisions and sadly we feel the time is right to make a change.

‘I want to personally thank Phil for his hard work, his passion for our Club and for his integrity as a person.’

Inter Miami fans held up a sign calling for Neville to be fired during the 1-0 loss to New York Red Bulls.

‘It hurt,’ Neville said when his son Harvey was booed after coming on as a substitute in the defeat.

‘It hurt. But I understand, and I think he understands. Do I agree with it? Probably not.’

‘Hit me guys, I can handle that. I can take that. I’ve had it all my career. We have the best fans.

‘I understand their frustration, the banners and all that because it comes with the territory being a professional football manager.

‘If you’re unhappy, hit the manager. Don’t go for one of my young kids. That hurts and that’s personal.’

Speaking more generally about Inter Miami’s awful form, Neville added: ‘Our results haven’t been good enough.

‘We have to take the criticism that comes our way. [But] I honestly don’t think there’s a team who came [to Miami’s stadium] and was better that us.’
