believes should try to sign this summer with the Borussia Dortmund striker available at a cut-down price.

Haaland, 21, is being tracked by a host of Europe’s top clubs and the Norwegian can be bought for a fee of just £65million at the end of the season due to a clause in his contract.

The Gunners are looking for new strikers following ’s exit in January and the impending departures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in the summer.

James, England’s former No. 1 goalkeeper, thinks Arsenal should make a move for Haaland as his transfer figure is not astronomical and within their price range.

He told Sky Sports: ‘With Haaland coming up at £65m that is something maybe Arsenal should have a word with.’

Aubameyang’s departure has left Arsenal short in the striking department

Reports suggest Haaland is a top target for Manchester City and it is believed the Premier League champions may already have a deal agreed for the starlet to join the club at the end of the season.

Although Haaland’s transfer price is set at £65m, it is thought the entire deal could cost as much as £250m once wages, bonuses and agent fees are factored in.

Many clubs like Manchester City will not baulk at such an outlay due to Haaland’s form since breaking into Dortmund’s first-team in 2020.

Last term, he scored 41 goals in 41 appearances for the German club. This season, meanwhile, he has already notched 25 goals in 26 games.

Earlier this year, Man City manager Pep Guardiola remained coy when he was asked about Haaland joining his team next season.

He said: ‘Since I am here, every month or two months people say we are going to sign 50 players.

‘Right now, listen, it’s impossible that I am going to talk about some guy who is not here. He’s a Dortmund player and we’ve an incredible run ahead of us.

‘At the end of the season it is the transfer window and many things are going to happen.’
