insists only can give an accurate answer as to whether he has played his last game for .

The 24-year-old has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract and talks over an extension have stalled.

Incoming manager is understood to be keen to find a resolution but with a host of major Premier League clubs showing an interest, Mount has a huge decision to make this summer.

Asked if Mount will represent Chelsea again, Lampard said: ‘I don’t know it’s not my answer to make it’s between Mason and the club.’

Lampard will hope to oversee a positive end to what has been a miserable campaign that will see Chelsea fail to qualify for Europe and potentially in the bottom half of the table.

‘The Premier League moves very fast,’ said Lampard at his pre-match press conference when asked if he could foresee the club staging a quick recovery.

‘If you switch it off, it’s not easy to switch it back on. I think that will be the test.

‘There is a lot to go over to get to the bottom of it. For a club like us, generally, who has been challenging year after year.

‘When you’re used to it, you have to explore every reason and make sure those reasons don’t happen again.’
