will receive a £6m pay-off from when he completes his move to United, according to reports.
The Red Devils have accepted a £30m bid for their former captain from the Hammers and a deal is expected to be completed imminently.
The Sun report that Manchester United will be trimming that transfer fee by handing over £6m to Maguire to offset the significant cut in wages he has accepted to move to east .
Maguire is reportedly paid £190,000-a-week at Old Trafford and will see that slashed to £120,000-a-week at the London Stadium, but the Red Devils have helped the deal to be done by giving the centre-back a huge pay-off.
The 30-year-old is part of a significant rebuild at West Ham after they sold captain Declan Rice and striker Gianluca Scamacca earlier this summer.
Edson Alvarez has arrived from Ajax to take Rice’s holding midfield role, while the Hammers are also linked with Manchester United’s Scott McTominay after seeing an initial bid rejected for the Scotland midfielder.
David Moyes is keen to add another forward as well and there is interest in Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun after his impressive season-long loan at Reims in Ligue 1.
On the arrival of Alvarez, Moyes said: ‘We’re really pleased to add Edson to our squad,” he said. “The midfield area was one we were especially keen to strengthen this summer – and Edson will complement the other options we have in that department.
‘He’s an experienced international player, who has enjoyed great success for both club and country during his career to date.
‘We’re excited about welcoming to West Ham and seeing him play his part in English and European competition for the Club.’
