There have been no negotiations between Inter Milan and any other clubs over a move for Lautaro Martinez, confirms Javier Zanetti.
The 25-year-old has been linked with , while have also been credited with an interest in his services.
There is no surprise that clubs are circling for the Argentina international after he scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, bettering the 25 he netted in the previous campaign.
Martinez still has three years left on his contract with Inter, so the club are under no pressure at all to sell him and their vice president has made it clear that there is no move in the offing.
Zanetti said: ‘There’s nothing with other clubs for Lautaro, no negotiations. I can guarantee that Lautaro’s very happy at Inter.’
A number of Europe’s biggest clubs are in the market for a new striker this summer and Real Madrid are also thought to be considering a bid for Martinez.
With Karim Benzema leaving at the end of last season, the Spanish giants will have to buy a striker this summer and have also been linked with the likes of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.
Martinez is also on their radar, so while Zanetti has confirmed that there have been no negotiations so far, if the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United or Real Madrid came calling then they would seriously test Inter’s resolve to keep the player.
The striker, signed by Inter from Racing Club in 2018, was a part of the Argentina squad that lifted the World Cup in Qatar over the winter, which followed a Serie A title with his club the previous year.
