Jamie Carragher feels there is only one Arsenal player the Gunners can bring on from the bench as a super substitute and change the outcome of a game.
The Gunners have suffered a serious dent to their title hopes in recent weeks, drawing to Liverpool, and bottom club Southampton before losing 4-1 to last time out.
Ahead of their clash against on Tuesday, the north London club are now second, one point behind Pep Guardiola’s side, having played an extra game.
Arsenal, who were eight points clear at the top earlier in the season, require a late twist to lift their first top-flight trophy in 19 years.
Quizzed on Arsenal’s dramatic slump, Carragher told Sky Sports: ‘There could be times in the season when you look at what’s happened with 2-0 leads and throwing them away.
‘People are going to say they bottled it but I don’t really go along with that.
‘I watched Manchester City at the weekend [against Fulham] and they brought Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva off the bench.
‘When you think of who Arsenal are bringing off the bench, it’s Leandro Trossard and there’s not really much else when you need a goal or to change a game.
‘The difference in quality in what Manchester City have is a lot higher than what Arsenal have.
‘That’s for me, the main reason if Manchester City go on to win the Premier League title.’
Trossard joined Arsenal in the January transfer window from Brighton, registering one goal and seven assists across 17 games foe the Gunners.
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell in order to close the gap to City.
‘I think this is why Arsenal have struggled a little bit of late, where you can’t freshen things up,’ he told Metro.co.uk. ‘You look at Man City, they can.’
