is fit for ’s clash with Fulham on Saturday, although the club’s assistant manager Juanma Lillo could not confirm whether Manuel Akanji or John Stones will be ready to start.

Foden had been suffering with illness, which was enough to see him kept out of the starting XI against Sheffield United last weekend.

The international came on with five minutes to go and was involved in City’s winner over the Blades showing that he was still firing on some cylinders, if not all of them.

Manchester City confirmed that Stones missed that match with a muscle problem and Akanji was ‘lacking match fitness’ but both have improved since then.

Lillo suggested they will be involved on Saturday, although left an element of doubt over their availability.

‘Right now, Phil is completely recovered from his illness,’ Lillo told a press conference on Friday.

‘Manu’s [Akanji] problem was more for prevention, it wasn’t anything serious. He’s more or less there. John [Stones] is more or less there as well. We’re fine, we’re okay.’

Lillo is still standing in for Pep Guardiola while he recovers from back surgery he underwent in Spain and the assistant will be on the touchline this weekend.

Whether he will have latest signing Matheus Nunes available is also unclear, with the new arrival from Wolves confirmed as a Manchester City player, but potentially not thrown straight into the squad this weekend.

‘I still don’t know,’ Lillo said of Nunes’ availability. ‘I know that he’s going to be a City player, but if he’s going to be available, I still don’t know. I don’t have that information. He still won’t be training.’
