Jurgen Klopp convinces Ryan Gravenberch to join Liverpool in £25million deal

Talks between Liverpool and over are ramping up with having spoken to the midfielder, according to reports.

The 21-year-old moved to Bavaria last year in a £16million deal from but was unable to nail down a regular role in the side and has only made three starts in the Bundesliga.

Despite his lack of game time, Bayern still felt Gravenberch would eventually establish himself at the Allianz Arena and have been reluctant to sell him.

However, that stance has changed in the past few days after Gravenberch told Bayern he in search of more regular football.

Furthermore, he has failed to win over Thomas Tuchel and the Bayern coach is happy to cash in on the Netherlands international if it means he can use the funds to sign a new number six – something he has craved all summer.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool have but it is the Merseysiders who are now pressing ahead with a deal.

According to , an offer of €30million (£25m) from Liverpool is expected imminently and Klopp has already spoken to Gravenberch.

The former Ajax star has been convinced to move to Anfield and feels he can finally start fulfilling his potential under Klopp, who believes the youngster is the perfect fit for Liverpool’s system and their current midfield demands.

Liverpool have already signed Wataru Endo from Stuttgart, who is more of an out-and-out defensive midfielder, and Klopp feels the dynamic, box-to-box Gravenberch can complete his midfield rebuild.

According to , It is likely that Bayern will try and push for a fee closer to €35m (£30m) but talks are accelerating quickly and all parties now expect the move to happen.

Bayern are simultaneously ramping up talks to try and sign Fulham enforcer Palhinha and are readying an offer worth €60m (£50m) plus bonuses for the Portugal international – though the west London club want even more than that.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have not followed up on their long-standing interest in Gravenberch and are looking to try and secure a loan deal for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat instead.
