legend Roy Keane is interested in becoming the new Hibernian manager after Shaun Maloney was sacked by the Scottish club last week.
Keane, 50, has not managed in the game since being dismissed by Ipswich Town over a decade ago.
However, the Irishman has been looking for a return to management despite enjoying his work as a pundit and, earlier this year, was rumoured to be close to re-joining , the club he bossed in the late-2000s.
According to , Keane has spoken about a potential move to Hibernian with friends after Maloney was fired following a 2-1 defeat to Hearts in the League Cup semi-final.
It’s not the first time Keane has been linked with the Scottish Premiership having been among the contenders for the Celtic job in the past.
Following his stints at Ipswich Town and Sunderland, he has had spells as an assistant manager with the Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
A job in Scotland, away from the limelight, could represent a good opportunity for Keane to relaunch his coaching career as Brendan Rodgers did at Celtic.
However, speaking this month, Keane appeared to dismiss the idea of getting back into the dugout again.
He said on : ‘I almost feel recently, I think, those days are over for me now, going back into management.
‘I really feel like that. I’m 50 now, I’m doing the TV. Obviously, I’m labelled as more of a pundit now.’
