has returned to training ahead of Thursday’s clash with Sevilla.

The club’s top goal scorer , missing United’s last two games as a result.

, Rashford could now be in contention to play in Thursday night’s second leg in Seville.

Luke Shaw, who has missed United’s last three games, was also back in training alongside Marcel Sabitzer, who suffered a knock just minutes before kick-off ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Nottingham Forest.

Tyrell Malacia, who also missed that game through injury, was also among the group training on Wednesday.

United have been left reeling by a number of injury blows in recent weeks, losing first-choice centre-halves Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in last Thursday’s first leg clash against Sevilla.

Erik ten Hag was without 10 members of his first-team squad on Sunday with Martinez set to miss the rest of the season with a metatarsal fracture in his right foot.

But Rashford’s availability would serve as a huge boost as United enter a season-defining run of three games.

The Premier League side carelessly threw away a two-goal lead against Sevilla last week but have an excellent record against Spanish opposition this season, having beaten Real Sociedad and Real Betis away from home while getting a draw against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Following their trip to Spain, United then head to Wembley for their FA Cup semi-final against Brighton.

Next Thursday, they are in action away to Tottenham where a win would see them tighten their grip on a top four finish.

, starting back-to-back games against Sevilla and Nottingham Forest having also come off the bench to score against Everton at the start of that run.

But the return of Rashford, who has scored 27 goals in 45 appearances for his club this season, could provide United with the firepower they need to get their season over the line.

Ten Hag is expected to provide a further update on the England international at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday evening.
