Napoli will demand a club-record fee for this summer and are expecting a bidding war, with Paris Saint-Germain joining in the race for his signature.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a superb campaign, with his 21 goals in 23 Serie A appearances helping Napoli establish a mammoth 19-point lead in the title race.

His excellent form – which has also produced four goals in as many starts – has alerted the attention of a host of European giants and Napoli fear they will not be able to hang onto their top scorer.

United are looking at Osimhen as an alternative to , with manager Erik ten Hag desperate to bring in a new, proven goalscorer in the summer, while PSG and Chelsea are also circling.

Now are reporting that Napoli will begrudgingly cash in on the Nigeria international, but only if they receive an offer in excess of €100million (£88m).

Owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is a notoriously tough negotiator but he is open to selling both Osimhen and breakout star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia if suitable offers are made – particularly if they help deliver a long-awaited Scudetto before leaving.

However, Campos – who signed Osimhen for Lille back in 2019 – has met with the player’s entourage already and established a good relationship ahead of a summer swoop.

Osimhen has not rejected PSG’s advances and is open to moving back to Ligue 1, however his preference would be a move to the Premier League.

It certainly appears as though United have a battle on their hands to sign Osimhen, though the fact they are in a better position to meet Napoli’s £88m asking price could give them a big advantage over PSG.

United are also looking at other strikers such as Tottenham frontman Kane, but Osimhen is five years younger and would likely be a far easier deal to secure than .
