PSG manager Christophe Galtier ‘in police custody over allegations of discrimination while Nice boss’

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier and his son are in police custody due to allegations of discrimination while the former was Nice boss, according to reports in .

The 56-year-old is expected to leave this summer, and there were reports that he had been sacked earlier this month, having only moved to the club in Paris last year from Nice.

French publication report that both Galtier and his son John Valovic-Galtier are facing accusations of from ex-Nice sporting director Julien Fournier.

report that they were taken into police custody at 8:45am on Friday as part of the investigation into alleged discrimination, with prosecutors having 24 hours to either charge or release both men.

Fournier has alleged that Galtier made ‘discriminatory, racist and Islamophobic remarks’ during his time at Nice, which ran from 28 June 2021 – 27 June 2022.

report that Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère and players at the club have been interviewed as part of the investigation.

In terms of Galtier’s future at Paris Saint-Germain, he is expected to be replaced by Luis Enrique as manager in the coming days.

The slightly odd situation sees Enrique’s arrival already confirmed, with the Spaniard expected to be unveiled as boss this weekend, although Galtier’s exit has not yet been finalised.
