interim manager has endorsed Paul Mitchell to the club’s heirachy.
Mitchell, 40, made his name at Tottenham where he was influential in the signings of , Dele Alli, Heung-Min Son and Kieran Trippier.
That earned him a move to RB Leipzig as the club’s head of recruitment, where he established a relationship with Rangnick.
Mitchell is now with Monaco but he’s expected to leave the club at the end of the season and he was spotted with Rangnick at a recent United academy match.

Mitchell is known to be one of the smoothest operators in football and he revolutionised Leipzig’s work in the market, identifying the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Christopher Nkunku.
United got rid of two of their top scouts in Marcel Bout and Jim Lawlor last week, leaving a gap for a new recruit to come in.
Rangnick will take up a two-year consultancy role at the end of the season but it’s unclear what the German will specifically be dealing with.
