Toni Kroos admits couldn’t have asked for a tougher Champions League draw as they face Chelsea in the quarter-final.

Madrid knocked out Paris Saint-Germain to reach the last eight of the competition as Karim Benzema delivered an impressive second-half hat-trick in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, ’s side saw off Lille with wins at Stamford Bridge and in the second leg in France.

Madrid and Chelsea will now face each other next month to determine who will play either or in the semi-final.

And Kroos concedes that Madrid will be up against in their tie against Chelsea.

‘They are the current champions, so it couldn’t be more difficult,’ Kross said on his podcast with his brother Felix.

‘There could hardly be a bigger hurdle, but we have to concentrate on ourselves, and if we play well, it’s possible to do a lot of things.

‘We have to try to be very good because that’s what we will have to be to reach the semi-finals.

‘Probably nobody wanted PSG in the last 16, and probably nobody wanted in the quarter-finals.

‘But that’s the way things are, and we have to accept them.’
