Tottenham are prepared to let enter the final year of his deal in a bid to keep the forward at the club in the long-term, despite interest .

Kane has 15 months to run on his deal in north and he’s considering his future at the club.

The England captain is yet to make a final decision and he wants to focus on the remainder of the season before doing so.

Spurs are battling for a position in the top four, while there’s considerable doubt over ’s future at the club.

Manchester United hope to capitalise on that by moving for Kane this summer and the 29-year-old is believed to be Erik ten Hag’s first choice centre forward.

As such, David Ornstein claims Spurs are willing to take a huge gamble by allowing Kane’s situation to run into next season.

It was thought that the club would make a final decision on the striker this summer; by either securing him to a long-term deal or reluctantly selling him.

However, claims Spurs will prioritise speaking to Kane over a new deal, even if that means talks dragging into the final year of his contract.

That is a gamble for the club as Kane’s price will drop once he’s into the final 12 months of his deal and the January transfer window would be the final opportunity for the club to get a fee for him, as he could walk away for free in 2024.

But Spurs have history in using this tactic as Christian Eriksen was sold to Inter Milan for £18m in January 2020, despite having just six months left on his deal.

That was despite the fact that he could have signed a pre-contract agreement with the Italians that would have seen him move to the San Siro just six months later.
