are reportedly considering a move for winger and former star Steven Bergwijn.

’ side have enjoyed a return to form this season, having reached the last-16 of the Europa League and are currently sixth in the Premier League, just six points off the top four.

Keeping this momentum up may prove tricky however, especially with key players like Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus unavailable.

The former is sidelined with a thigh injury, while the latter is representing Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Furthermore, the European fixtures will no doubt cause issues for the Irons squad later on in the season.

To that end, West Ham are looking at potential attacking reinforcements, and multiple sources including report that Bergwijn is on their shortlist.

Fans in England will know the 26-year-old best from his underwhelming spell at Tottenham, whom he joined in January 2020 from PSV in a deal worth £27million.

He got off to the perfect start, scoring on his Premier League debut in a win against Manchester City, but he would go onto record just eight goals and 10 assists in 83 appearances for Spurs.

The Dutchman returned to his homeland in the summer of 2022 where he’s fared much better, scoring 24 and assisting nine in 65 games for Ajax and he is also club captain.

It is said that West Ham have opened talks with Bergwijn’s representatives but there is still a long way to go before a deal can be struck.

The Irons’ pursuit of the winger will depend on how much is left in their transfer kitty, as while Ajax could be open to selling their skipper, they will not sanction a loan with an option to buy.

In the meantime, Moyes men will be in action on Sunday when they host Championship side Bristol City in the FA Cup third-round.
