
Ian Maatsen is set to stay at despite the club accepting a £31.5 million offer from Burnley, according to reports.
The 21-year-old excelled during his loan spell with Burnley in the Championship last season and Vincent Kompany’s side have been eager to make the move permanent this .
However, preparations and the versatile Dutchman looked ready to challenge for a regular first-team place.
According to the , Chelsea accepted an offer from Burnley on Friday which was a loan with an obligation to buy for £31.5m.
However, it’s understood that Maatsen has spoken to Kompany and has expressed his reluctance to join Burnley on what would eventually be a permanent basis.

Speaking about Maatsen during Chelsea’s pre-season campaign, Pochettino said: ‘I am so happy with him.
‘He is a player that can play in different positions. He has quality, he understands the game, and he is such a clever player.’
Chelsea also also fielding late interest from Tottenham for Connor Gallagher, whileNottingham Forest are exploring a deal for Trevoh Chalobah.
