has been reportedly left ‘shaken’ after being threatened with a machete and robbed of his £17,000 Rolex.
The attack is said to have taken place in broad daylight in a ‘nice part’ of West while the Songs of Praise presenter, 52, was with his son Lucas, 18, near their home.
The Walking in the Air singer is reported to have handed over his watch rather than start a fight with the perpetrator yielding the weapon, who is alleged to be aged 16.
A source said: ‘Aled was totally shocked as it came out of nowhere and all happened so fast.’
They continued to: ‘Although Aled was shaken afterwards, he was quite relieved. He was glad he and Lucas were not hurt and that they got home safely to the rest of their family.
‘You can replace a watch and everyone realised it could have been a lot worse.’
Aled is married circus performer Claire Fossett after meeting at a Blackpool production of Joesph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
As well as son Lucas, the couple share , who works as an actress and has appeared in shows including Doctor Who and Netflix series Locke & Key.
In 2021, Emilia was nominated for a Bafta in CODA and will appear in upcoming film Winner along with Connie Britton and Zach Galifianakis.
Aled, meanwhile, became famous as a teenager for singing the theme tune to iconic Christmas film, The Snowman, and has continued to release music.
He has since presented TV shows including ITV’s Daybreak, which was later replaced by Good Morning Britain, Cash in the Attic and Escape to the Country.
Last year, Aled was in The Masked Singer.
