After brushing shoulders with some of the Royal Family, Alison will next be turning her attention to King Charles’ Coronation.

As part of the breakfast programmes coverage of the event, she will be heading to Coronation Street to kick off the Royal weekend in style.

Announcing the news earlier this week, she said she would be.

‘When I say we, I’m talking absolutely everyone. The crew, we’ve got presenters, we’ve got loads of cordially invited – the sofa’s coming!’

She added: ‘This is the best! We are so very excited! Unfortunately, Rochelle and Phil, it’s actually happening on a Friday, it’s the eve of the coronation. So it’s me and Dermot!’
