Avril Lavigne is engaged to her .
The pop-punk princess, 37, had this week when she was spotted in Los Angeles with a stunning rock on her ringer.
Now the rumours have been confirmed, as Avril and Mod – real name Derek Smith – officially announced their engagement.
Musician and producer Mod proposed to the Sk8er Boi legend with a ridiculously romantic gesture while the pair were on holiday together in Paris, France.
He shared gorgeous photos and even a video of the moment to Instagram, showing the pair embracing before enjoying a romantic boat trip down the river Seine.
Taking to social media, a smitten Mod wrote:
‘The day we met I knew you were the one. Together forever til our days are done.
‘I had a dream where I proposed in pairs.I pulled out a ring + asked you to wear it. I was on one knee as I looked in your eyes. You’re too beautiful for my words to describe.
‘I grabbed your hand + took one last breath… I said “will you marry me?” + she said “yes”.’
At the end of the sweet poem, Mod wrote simply: ‘I love you Avril ❤️.’
Photographs of the proposal show Mod, in a leather jacket and trousers, dropping to one knee as Avril, also dressed in all-black, beams down at him with the Eiffel Tower visible in the background.
A second photograph shows Avril – ring now on her finger – being picked up and kissed by the musician, with a series of later snaps showing the couple looking into each other’s eyes and grinning, Avril lifting her hand to show off the heart-shaped ring.
The pair continued their boat trip following the proposal, with a video showing a violinist performing as the newly-engaged couple sip champagne and Mod declaring: ‘I love you!’
Avril and future husband Mod fell in love while working on Avril’s new album Love Sux – which, yeah, is kind of ironic — but were friends for years beforehand.
Avril has featured on Mod’s song Flames, and he has had her name tattooed on his neck.
