doesn’t call herself Sasha Fierce for nothing as her mum Tina Knowles has joked the superstar could be ‘mean’ in the height of stress backstage on her Renaissance tour.
In her latest interview, family matriarch Tina, 69, shed some light on the chaos that went on behind the scenes on , which saw her wear multiple outfits each night from a choice of 600 stage looks.
With so much going on, it’s not surprising that Beyonce, 42, loses her cool occasionally amid all the costume changes.
‘We laughed about this recently because I was saying, “Girl, you get really mean back there,” and I am really happy that I don’t have to be back there anymore,’ Tina told Sherri Shepherd on her TV talk show.
‘We’d laugh because she used to do Flaws and All. She would say, “I’m a [b***h] in the morning,” and I’ll be like, “and the evening too!”’
Spilling the tea, Tina continued: ‘She’ll be like, “Mama, I’m so sorry,” and I’m like, “I know.”
‘Sometimes she’ll be crying, and I was like, “She crying because she know she just said some crazy stuff to us.
‘But that’s the heat of the moment, because you’re trying to get your shoes on, and everybody’s waiting, and if somebody’s messing up or they lose the shoes, then you messed up the whole show. So, I understand it.’
Fans caught a glimpse of Beyonce’s wrath a few times on the Renaissance tour when the singer was forced to subtly during the show.
During a performance in Chicago, the Halo hitmaker sang ‘turn the fan on’ in the middle of ballad 1+1 when she noticed her beloved wind machine wasn’t working.
Her crew were clearly not paying attention as she flashed a bombastic side-eye and the sassiest of hair flicks before continuing on with the song. An extended clip of the awkward moment showed Beyonce’s hair blowing in the breeze proving they were luckily able to get the AC working.
Another incident saw her struggling to climb down from her massive horse as her stage crew failed to align the staircase with the prop. In footage shared on social media, Beyonce is seen trying to motion with her foot several times for the staircase to be brought closer and looked seriously unimpressed with her team’s failed efforts.
Fans will be able to get a closer look at all the action when around the world on December 1. The trailer reveals fans can expect to see the incredible tour performances up close as well as what went down backstage.
