has shockingly claimed her mother didn’t allow her to date anybody because she was ‘in love’ with her.

The star’s mother, Teri Shields, died in 2012 at age 79 following a long illness related to dementia.
Speaking to on her programme, Brooke opened up about ‘weird’ situations with her mum.
Drew, 48, asked: ‘I was so confused about sexuality because by mom, like, went and dated my boyfriends. Did you ever have that weird situation with your mom?’
Brooke replied: ‘No, because she was in love with me.’
She went on to explain that her mum had no interest in dating men because she spent all her attention on managing her daughter’s career.
‘I was her main focus and both of us were going to be cut off from our sexuality.’
‘I was going to stay a virgin. She was going to be just Teri terrific and being there,’ Brooke continued.
Drew replied by saying her mother was ‘so enamoured’ with her that ‘she actually wanted to be with the people I was with’.
‘I don’t really get it but I get it. It’s so needy and weird, and it’s so sad and broken,’ Drew agreed.
Brooke Shields: Pretty Baby sees the actor and model ‘become a woman who discovers her power after being a sexualised young girl’, according to the synopsis.
The documentary shows a scene, per , in which Brooke’s own daughter, Rowan, 19, describes the actress’ childhood career as ‘child pornography’.
‘It’s child pornography! Would you have let us [do that] at the age of 11?’ she asks her mum, who tearfully says ‘no’.
‘That was hard for me, to not justify my mum to them, but when they asked, I thought, “Oh God, I have to admit this”. But I don’t know why she thought it was all right,’ Brooke told .
In the documentary, , including Grier, 16, that she would never let them watch Pretty Baby.
When Brooke was just 10, she was allowed to pose nude for Playboy, while at 14, she became the youngest model to grace the cover of Vogue.
Talking about Pretty Baby, Brooke admits she is ‘amazed’ that she ‘survived any of it’.
‘I found my confidence and thought, “I can have my own opinion”, she goes on to admit after struggling through her childhood to “find her voice”.
